Previously Transferred Sophia Courses? Also need advice on one last course |

Hi, I know Sophia courses transfer have changed, and some that previously counted towards Gen Ed are now considered electives.
Last year I was enrolled, and went through the credit transfer process and degree plan. However, I had a family emergency before I could officially register for classes. I still have my student number/login, and it still shows my degree progress report and transfer credit report.
I reached out to see if I could re-enroll, but they said I had to reapply, which I've done. Do you think that will change the credits I've already transferred in? They said they have all the documents I had previously sent, so I'd only have to send in any new credits. I'm hoping that means I'm good, but I'll be crushed if I have to retake some of these classes lol.
Also, since I will be enrolling in Fall 2, I can squeeze in on more class at Sophia or somewhere. I currently have 85 credits (that will all say the same, hopefully) so realistically I can only get one more class transferred in.
I currently need:
- ENG 121 College Composition II
- GEC-GLO 5A. (GEO 101, SOC 100, or SWK 105 )
- BUS141
- BUS260
- BUS321
- BUS415
- PCJ215
- 1 of these (Bus 240, Bus 350, Bus 352, Bus 353)
I am thinking of taking one of the following at Sophia but not sure which would be the most efficient option:
- ENG 1020 Workplace Writing II (19% completed, but not finished)
- Intro to Sociology
- Business Communication
Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

I was planning to use Sophia for several courses then enroll at WGU. Since I have done more research I am thinking UMPI is a better option for me. I have found some degree plans that use Study and Sophia to get it down to 10 courses at UMPI but since the changes took place in May I am not sure if they are accurate or not. Does anyone have a current spreadsheet or list that is up to date for this degree accelerated? Are all the GEC the same across all majors at UMPI?
Is this accurate:
I have looked at plotted path and it seems like I only have to take these at UMPI:
PSY 311 - Research Methods I 3 credits
PSY 446 - Psychobiology 3 credits
Then 10 of the core psychology courses but two of which I can do on Study.com leaving 8 at UMPI:
PSY 200 - Social Psychology
Social Psychology (Study.com)
PSY 235 - Abnormal Psychology
Abnormal Psychology (Study)
BA Psychology
Taken at Sophia
English Composition I 3
Workplace Writing II 3
Business Communication 3
English Composition I (duplicate)
Intro to Ethics 3
Intro to Sociology 3
Workplace Writing II (Duplicate)
Critical Thinking 3
Visual Communications 3
Intro to Statistics 3
Intro to Statistics (Duplicate)
Human Bio (Duplicate)
Environmental Science 3
Human Bio + Lab 4
Workplace Writing II (Duplicate)
Intro to Ethics (Duplicate)
Intro to Sociology (Duplicate)
US History I 3
Spanish I 3
Intro to Ethics (Duplicate)
US Government 3
Courses can be used twice to fill the requirement, but they won't double count as credit hours.
Psychology Courses taken at Sophia
PSY 100 - General Psychology 3
PSY 205 - Lifespan Development 3
Psychology Courses taken at Study.com
PSY 200 - Social Psychology 3
PSY 235 - Abnormal Psychology 3
Taken at UMPI
PSY 341 - Drugs and Behavior 3
PSY 370 - Personality 3
PSY 380 - Principles of Counseling 3
PSY 382 - Substance Abuse Counseling 3
PSY 235 - Abnormal Psychology 3
PSY 355 - Group Process 3
PSY 374 - Vocational Aspects of Disability 3
PSY 404 - Psychology of Learning 3
PSY 311 - Research Methods 3
PSY 446 - Psychobiology 3
total 82
Sophia courses to reach 120

My current experience with WGU |

So far it's excellent! There was a bit of a snafu when they wouldn't let me accelerate some courses and when I mixed up some of my references... totally not a ChatGPT issue...
Things I like about WGU
Self-paced learning is excellent!
The free Grammarly.
Honestly, I thought I would hate the weekly check-ins, but my first mentor was phenomenal, and my second one is good as well, but she had some high standards to meet. And the check-ins do keep me accountable.
The ability to not have to read every book, and I can rely on my work/life experience to help me through these courses.
I have ADHD like squirrel... but seriously, one course at a time is a lifesaver.
I managed to get a health field-related scholarship!
This is legit taking years off of my goal to become a Therapist/Counselor.
Things I don't care for
If a new rule were placed, the recent changes to how accelerating courses worked. If it's just them enforcing the rule that was there, it still sucks. I lost momentum when all my assignments were turned in, and I couldn't accelerate my next course, graded or not. But now having to wait until only the last assignment is graded to start the next course is no bueno. I work nights and can easily get both of my assignments for a class done in just a few nights, as my job requires me to be present and awake. I went from finishing three courses but waiting to be graded to this, where only one assignment can be waiting to be graded.
Things I'm meh about
The computer access was very intrusive while taking an exam. It is what it is.
The library book system. Yes, I only want 150 words from this book...
I legit haven't interacted with any of my professors, except for the one for the reference issue. Introverted, so it's not necessarily a bad thing for me. It feels like a degree mill to me—that's my opinion. But I'm taking advantage of it.

All in All
Good times and great fun. Never thought I would get through my BA this quickly.
This is an example of one of my answers. I try to add some personal touches to each of my assignments lol
F. Where my biases appear
My background strongly emphasizes individual responsibility and constitutional rights, which leads me toward education-based, voluntary solutions rather than regulatory mandates. I am skeptical of policies that restrict law-abiding citizens while potentially leaving them vulnerable to criminals who ignore laws. Also, I am very traditional and conservative. Both add to a bias that could be summarized by a common colloquialism—often abbreviated as FAFO. Alternatively, more politely, the idea that reckless provocation invites consequences. I have recently had the opportunity to confront that bias. My career path has led me to work with young men in the foster system. Seeing these men and hearing their stories has opened my mind to the concept that some people face overwhelming odds to the point of impossibility. I work with young men of the same age and race, as mentioned in the statistics throughout this paper. Furthermore, I cannot help but be in awe of what they have gone through and how far they have come in life, given their situations.

Hi all--
I apologize if this has been covered. I looked, but if I overlooked, please feel free to point me in the right direction. I signed up with a Study.com Premium plan and have completed several classes with the idea that I'd get all the quizzes and assignments done and then switch to College Saver to submit assignments and take exams. When I went to change my membership, I see the following text as part of a larger message about switching (such as prorating, etc.):
"In addition, please note that your new College Starter plan has different course requirements than your current plan. Because of this, progress made on your current plan will not carry over to your new plan."
My panicked lizard brain is telling me that means all 5 of my upper level courses will have the quizzes reset and I'll have to start over. Has anyone switched over lately who can share their experience? The same message appears regardless of the version of College Saver that I choose, BTW.
I hope I'm misunderstanding, though I have no idea what the alternative meaning would be. It would be awful to think you might just decide to upgrade and be penalized for trying to give them more money every month. Plus why would anyone ever upgrade? I'd just close my account and start a new one to take advantage of a new user coupon, assuming I could find one.

BS in Psychology by 2028 for 14 year old |

I dropped out of 8th grade two years ago so I could start taking college classes. I want to graduate with a Bachelor's by the time I would have graduated from high school (Spring 2028). I will be 17 at that time. I've been considering Excelsior University because it accepts so many transfer credits. Is Excelsior the best path, or is there a better college, especially for my age? I'm legally homeschooled, so all of my college credits will count for high school as well.
After my Bachelor's, I want to get a Master's and Doctorate, would this affect how I go about getting my Bachelor's?
I would also like to graduate with a high GPA and honors. Of the two ASU classes I have taken I got a 96 and 100.
Your Location: Arkansas, United States
Your Age: 14
What kind of degree do you want?: BS Psychology
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 6 - ASU - Currently working on another 9
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: 12 - CLEP - Currently working on another 3
Any certifications or military experience?: No
Budget: Cheaper is obviously better, but money is not really an issue.
Commitments: I work at a theatre around 15-20 hours a week during the school year, off and on, and 40-50 hours a week in the summer.
Dedicated time to study: My only job is at the theatre, and I don't go to school anymore, so I can work as long as I need to.
Timeline: I would like to graduate by the Winter of 2027, but the Spring of 2028 can work too.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: None
I really appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks!

BS in Accounting - Best path? |

Good morning all,
Would love your insight. I have a Bachelors of Arts degree (general studies) and a Masters of Arts degree in teaching. I have been teaching my entire life but think I should pursue the BS in Accounting Degree.
My question: which provider, Sophia, SDC, or StraighterLine should I use to get the maximum amount of classes completed that would go towards a future BS in Accounting degree? On a side note, I haven’t taken any business or accounting courses in either my undergrad or graduate degree.
And lastly, is there a certain school that is least expensive to complete the remaining credits for the degree? I was thinking Liberty but of course they don’t have a BS in Accounting degree.
Thanks all.

Hello all, I was here about 2 months ago, and received some great advice. I used AI to help build a course load, and began my path on my first college degree. That said, I don't know that I inherently trust AI, and could use a bit of your expertise to ensure I'm on the right path!
Your Location: State and Country: NJ, USA
Your Age: 39
What kind of degree do you want?: PoliSci BA at UMPI, which I intend to attend for 60 graded credits, beofre taking the LSAT and eventually attending law school.
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits:
Provider Total Credits: # 33
Class Name, Credits, Grade
Sophia:
- Ancient Greek Philosophers; 3
- Critical Thinking; 3
- English Composition I; 3
- Human Biology; 3
- Introduction to College Mathematics; 3
- Introduction to Ethics; 3
- Public Speaking; 3
- US Government; 3
- US History I; 3
- Introduction to Nutrition; 3
- Introduction to Psychology; 3
And while they're pass/fail, all courses have been finished with at least a 95%.
Any certifications or military experience? No
Budget: N/A
Commitments: N/A
Dedicated time to study: A few hours per day
Timeline: Hopefully enrolled in Umpi by January
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Fafsa; full pell grant awarded
I know I need a lab, so the Human Bio Lab is on the list. I'm trying to discern what general education courses are a *must* at this point. I'm attempting to avoid as much science and math as possible, and focus on writing and comprehension. I am almost done with English Comp 2, as well. It seems I need a foreign language, but I'm intending to test out through Japanese ACTFL
I could use some guidance on which courses are absolutely mandatory for attending UMPI, from a general education standpoint. The GLO requirements are a bit strange to me.
