Hi everyone,

I recently received an admissions email about a new fully online Master of Science in Quantum Computing program starting in Fall 2026, and I thought it might be of interest to those here looking for flexible, affordable STEM grad programs.

The program is offered by Fei Tian College Middletown (which holds regional accreditation from NECHE). Here is a quick rundown of the details they shared:

• Format: 100% online.
  
• Pacing: Geared toward working professionals. You can take just 1–2 courses per semester.
  
• Curriculum & Faculty: Covers quantum theory, algorithms, hardware, and software. The faculty roster is very impressive for a new program, featuring professors with PhDs from top institutions (like Princeton and Rutgers) and deep real-world R&D experience (including a former Bell Labs senior scientist).
  
• No Thesis: It culminates in a hands-on capstone project instead of a traditional thesis (which is always a plus for working adults!).
  
• Admissions: Designed for students/professionals who already hold a bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
  
• Tuition & Funding: This is the best part—they are offering an Inaugural Scholarship for the first cohort, which brings the full Master's program tuition to a flat $20,000.
  

Morehead State University in Kentucky recently started offering a fully online or hybrid Doctor of Engineering. Catalog. Program page
The degree is 60 credits and it appear up to 30 of those can be transferred from prior graduate/masters-level coursework. 

Available concentrations in Integrated Systems Engineering and Space Systems Engineering. 

Program requires comprehensive exams and dissertation. 

Tuition and fees appear to be $613/credit, for total degree cost of ~$18,390 assuming maximum transfer credit.

Only tuition free. They have, from day one, always made it clear both in print and elsewhere that they still charge fees (which even with them being raised over the years, are still very, very reasonable compared to every other school).

Never once have they said "We are free, free and you will never pay anything" yet I read far too many comments or see far too many videos from people who either think they did or simply can't comprehend that tuition free and free, free is not the same thing. The latter of course makes me then question if they have the intelligence to even successfully complete college at U of people or anywhere else.

Estimated cost: $19,830 for 10 courses.  They also accept up to 6 transfer credits.  

The course requirements are like a general management degree.  

Great price for a masters from a top-tier university.

This is pure tragedy.

Hey All,

I have a midterm coming up for one of my classes and I have not taken an exam on ProctorU before. It was confirmed in the syllabus, through exam registration, and via an online chat I had with ProctorU that pdf Textbook would be allowed during the test. 

I also have a bunch of pages of notes I took in google docs that I will pdf up for the exam so I dont have any weird issues with the proctor. 

Anyone experience any issues with using these types of resources during an exam? Should I transpose my notes over to paper to make sure they dont give me a problem? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Just getting the word out... Liberty no longer offers the 25 percent First Responder discount to doctoral students... it is now only available to Associate, Bachelors, and Masters students....
The military discount remains an option for doctoral students however. No reason has been given for the change.

Curious as to whether or not anyone here has taken these. If so, what are your thoughts? I am waiting on UMPI and TESU's advising departments to respond about whether or not it transfers. When I emailed TESU's advising department, I received an email stating that I needed to contact their advising department.  I guess I'll need to set up an advising appointment. These courses are relevant to my genealogical niches and look like a nice way to acquire UL credit. (Assuming they transfer in as such.)

These are the particular courses that I'm interested in. The $500 price tag is steep for me, so I'll apply for a scholarship if TESU and/or UMPI accepts these courses.

Joseph Smith and the Restoration: 1805-1845 | REL C 341
Introduction to Family History Doctrine and Practice | HIST 205 This one isn't UL, but I would find learning about church policies and procedures surrounding temple work to be interesting.

There's also UL courses on modern church history and some scripture. Those ones don't stand out as much to me though.
