Exclamation This Week Has Been a Crazy Decade: New OpenAI Image Generator Is Pure FIRE!!
Posted by: LevelUP - 03-30-2025, 10:40 AM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (1)

Okay, I'm not playing around this time — this really is revolutionary. No kidding. Holy... Well, you get the idea.

What's New:

  • Photorealism greatly improved. Mindblowing!

  • AI can do large amounts of text in images. FINALLY!

  • You can do infographics, posters, PowerPoint slides, and websites. More than AI slop!
Quick breakdown of OpenAI's new image generator for ADHD'ers.

TESU and Continuing Education Credits from Fresno Pacific
Posted by: TESOLer12 - 03-30-2025, 09:29 AM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - No Replies

Hello everyone,

I am new and about to complete my second BA in English from TESU thanks to this forum.

TESU is not taking any continuing education credits from Fresno Pacific Continuing Education now for degrees. I know some were able to count the graduate credits as undergrad credits in the past. Luckily, I had other credits that filled all my requirements from my MA in TESOL. I also had CE credits from Idaho State that weren't accepted either.

Fresno Pacific seemed like a great value. When taking their classes, there were undergraduate students hoping to count CE credits toward their degrees. I am not sure if any accepts them now for transfer, but I enjoyed the classes and felt I learned a considerable amount from taking them.

O.P. Jindal Global University as an American
Posted by: Biz01 - 03-29-2025, 11:23 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (3)

I have seen a previous thread discussing O.P. Jindal Global University's Coursera master's degrees and was wondering how they'd be viewed in America by employers. I'm rather interested in the MBA in Business Analytics because of the price and asynchronous pace. Would this degree be seen as a negative in the USA? Is accreditation an issue?

Thank you and apologies if this should have been posted in the other thread, feel free to remove if needed.

Katlie - Business Degree - Help with transfer credits
Posted by: Katlie - 03-29-2025, 02:53 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (1)

Hi, my name is Kay, based in South Africa. I’m a newly admitted student of Excelsior, looking to earn the Bsc in General Business Degree by June so that I can graduate in July. My understanding was that you are required to complete 15 credits with them if you are making use of their “partners program”. After I learnt that, I asked them to drop the partner program so that I only have to do the 7 credits and transfer in the 113 credits.
I have earned and transferred 63 credits so far through Sophia, in the process of completing another course through Sophia, so I will have earned an additional 12 credits, making my total credits so far 75. I am trying to figure out the rest of my credits from Study.com as Excelsior advisors will not assist in providing guidance until a month after I’m officially enrolled into one of their courses.
I am looking to register in their upcoming term starting on May 5-until the end of June, for the Cornerstone, Info Literacy and the Capstone course. Meaning I have to about a month and a half to complete the 38 credits as they won’t allow me to do the Capstone unless I have finished everything else. Can anyone kindly assist me as I am running out of time. I will list the credits I have earned through Sophia so far

Looking for Masters advice/any suggestions(UoPeople, LSUS, UMGC)
Posted by: DanielH1987 - 03-28-2025, 09:18 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (5)

Your Location: Columbus, Ohio
Your Age: 37
What kind of degree do you want?: MBA with concentration in Marketing or a MS in Marketing
Current Regional Accredited Credits: I have my BS in Hospitality Management from Ohio State University
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: None
Any certifications or military experience?: Negative - But I am considering a Digital Marketing certificate from LSU(through Ziplines)
Budget: Not a lot. I am planning on UoPeople, and may try to transfer to LSUS or UMGC, but most likely stay through MBA completion at UoPeople
Commitments: Full time job, wife, 2 kids(3yo and 1yo), trying to start my Restaurant consulting/Marketing side hustle at the same time.
Dedicated time to study: 15ish hours a week
Timeline: As fast as possible, but CPE is unlikely, as I am a realists about my life. I am not opposed to a WGU, but I don't bank I can complete it in one term, which means I feel I'd be better off at an LSUS or similar school for a little more than the 2 semester price for an MBA
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: None, although my FIL may help a little. .

My education:
I took Gen Ed classes at Monroe Community College and Columbus State Community Class. Both GPA's were around 2.5
I actually flunked out of CSCC due to partying so much. I ended up working third shift, saving up and going back on my own to get my grades up before transferring to OSU.

I graduated in 2012 from Ohio State in Hospitality Management.
Gen Ed and major classes
I finished 2 classes shy of a business minor, but didn't do well in the math courses, although I do have a ton of work experience now in P&L's and active business math. I had to graduate when I did as they were changing to semesters from quarters and would've changed my graduation plan.

I have been a Kitchen Manager, General Manager, District Manager, Director of Catering & VP of Operations within the restaurant field. My goal is to get away from direct operations and either gain a full time Marketing role or open a restaurant consulting and marketing management firm.

I do not get nervous in taking tests. I am average-above average of a writer. I just am not great at deep math. I am a very logical human being and can often break down and solve problems.

I am asking if in the short time that UoPeople has been RA, if anyone has seen some mid range schools like LSUS and UMGC(both just offer so much bang for buck in regards to name recognition) has accepted masters classes in transfer if I opt that route. Also, any insight on UoPeople MBA program, and opinions on things I might be missing/not thinking of. I am also planning on getting google/hubspot certificates as well.

The MBA/MS may not be needed to do what I want, but it is also a personal goal of mine.

TESU AA -> ASU Online BBA
Posted by: Tokusan - 03-28-2025, 06:37 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I've put together a degree plan that includes earning a TESU AA first then transfer to ASU Online for a BA in Business Administration.

Here is a link to my initial degree plan

The reason for earning the TESU AA first is that ASU accepts the AA as a total package that automatically fulfills all lower-division general education requirements. ASU also allows up to 60 credit-by-exam credits toward a degree, and up to 90 total transferred credits. The ASU BBA degree requirement is 120 credits total, with minimum 30 credits completed at ASU.

My plan is to transfer ~78 credits into ASU. Relying on a mix of CLEP, DSST, TECEP to maximize the credit-by-exam allotment and transferred credits, 20 previously earned credits from a community college, and some of ASU's own low-cost ULCs (Universal Learner Courses) toward the ASU BBA.

Please take a look and poke holes in my plan, any suggestions or recommendations are welcome.

  Georgia Tech Admissions? ACE, GPA?
Posted by: glancing7924 - 03-28-2025, 04:25 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (12)

In regards to OMSCS does Georgia Tech accept students from TESU where they hacked most of the degree through Sophia and Study.com? Do they ask for transcripts from them before admissions? Do they calculate that into their GPA requirements?

Also, I took some classes at UMPI, where I failed a few classes but replaced those grades with ACE credits and got removed from my GPA. Does Georgia Tech still count those F's as part of your GPA? Do they even ask for those transcripts?

Question What would you tell the Provost of Charter Oak State College?
Posted by: SteveFoerster - 03-28-2025, 03:46 PM - Forum: COSC - Charter Oak State College Discussion - Replies (19)

Hi everyone, I'm pretty busy these days, so I can't be as active on this forum as I might like, so some may not know that I'm a longtime member of the Charter Oak State College Alumni Association Board of Directors, and currently am your Vice President.

In late April a few other alumni and I will have the opportunity to meet with Charter Oak's Provost, Dr. David Ferreira, to discuss the approach that the institution is taking. Please help me help Charter Oak by doing the following:

1. If you are an alum, please consider attending this meeting online (or on campus!) It's scheduled for 1pm EDT on Monday, April 28th. I'll post details in this thread as I get them. (I'd also encourage you to join the Alumni Association Board of Directors! Ask me how!)

2. If you are an alum who is informed about changes in the institution's approach, or perhaps more importantly if you did not choose Charter Oak and can articulate why, please respond with your experience in this thread. Fair warning: I plan to print it out and bring it with me to show that I'm not the only one who believes that in a time of challenging enrollment figures, one thing that Charter Oak can do to be attractive to working adults, both in Connecticut and beyond, is remain as flexible as possible.

Thank you for helping Charter Oak State College!

CBE Accelerated Masters in Supply Chain
Posted by: pearblossom - 03-28-2025, 12:59 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (2)

Hello,

I am looking for a masters level program, CBE,  that I can accelerate in supply chain (or something very similar such as logistics).

I am not looking for MBA programs with a concentration in supply chain.

I see that UPMI is going to eventually offer a MSB in Supply Chain, and that would be perfect. Unfortunately since its not going to be released this fall from what I have read, that wont fit my timeline.

Thanks!
