Using CalCoast EdD Credits Constructively |

I completed 35 credits from CalCoast in their EdD Edu Psychology program. I got busy with my day job and it looks like I will need to withdraw from the program. The completion roadmap looks not attainable for me.
Where can I use these 35 credits constuctively? May be a Master's degree somewhere?
I am based in the US, and not looking to spend more than 3-5K right now putting these credits to good use.
Any pointers, help and guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Study.com switch to chapter tests, changing grading weight & making quizzes optional |

What are the new changes to credit-recommended courses?
[*]Lesson quizzes are optional. You are still encouraged to complete them for practice, but they no longer contribute to the final grade.
[*]Chapter tests are mandatory and will contribute to the final grade. All credit-recommended courses have chapter tests. There is one chapter test for each chapter.
[*]Assessments are shorter. Each chapter test is 15 questions, and the final exam is 50 questions.
[*]There is no mandatory minimum grade required on any chapter test. You can attempt each chapter test a maximum of 3 times and the best score will be used to calculate your final grade.
[*]Grade weighting is more balanced with the final exam worth a maximum of 1/3 of the course grade. Here are the grade breakdowns for different course types:
[*]Courses with chapter tests and a final exam: 2/3 chapter tests + 1/3 final exam
[*]Courses with chapter tests, assignment(s) and a final exam: 1/3 chapter tests + 1/3 assignments + 1/3 final exam
[*]Courses with chapter tests and assignments but no final exam: 1/3 chapter tests + 2/3 assignments

EU Citizen Seeking Low-Cost Online Studies in Law, Psychology, or Public Administration |

Hello everyone,
I hold an EU passport and I’m interested in enrolling in fully online studies in law, psychology, or public administration, preferably in an EU country. It’s important that:
exams do not require proctoring (quizzes and essays are fine),
there are no special English language requirements,
the studies can be completed as quickly as possible,
and if possible, the programs are free or low-cost.
Does anyone know of such programs or have experience with online degrees that meet these criteria?
Thank you in advance!

University of Helsinki: Free Courses, “IN ENGLISH” + FREE + SELF-PACED + For Credit |

All University of Helsinki, “IN ENGLISH” + FREE (tagged: "free for all", and "free for undergrads") + ASYNC/SELF-PACED (MOOC) + For Credit, 55 unique courses:
/
Note: this is animuscerebri's find, but I posted to new topic
animuscerebri, other thread:
Quote:"All of them are free, of high quality, and from one of the best universities of the world.
You can easily fill up your 24 RA creds requirement at TESU.
My recommendation: do 50 ECTS (become at least 25 US creds) worth of free courses at the University of Helsinki, send that to a foreign creds evaluator, such as ACEI (I used them for Helsinki, and they were fast), and ACEI sends it to TESU, and you're done with RA requirements. ACEI will charge about $250 for one course-by-course transcript evaluation right now, but you'd check their current prices, I did it last year.
Heck, you can also take random courses like Basics of Agricultural technology or Me and my cat, me and my dog courses, if you like to meet the RA creds this way.
What are you waiting for? Smile"
/
Me, other thread:
Quote:50 ECTS > I will make a "set" for us all to do that is "FOOL PROOF" (BUT MADE BY A FOOL, me, lol) for "easy" passes
IMHO = #'s 5 to 10 > $'s 23 to 24 > #'s 39 to 44 > Solo #46 > #'s 49 to 54
NOTE: The Cyber/DevOps/Fullstack courses, are free... but go "well past" intro to/100-level (might not be "easy" to the non-techy)
Closing access? >> This says to me, DO THEM NOW
I'll fly through a single credit course to check it out, looks like its all via 3rd party MOOC's, execpt for the IT offerings (they appear in house, at least cyber and intro programming are that I see)

Your Location: Panama, Panama
Your Age: 29
What kind of degree do you want?: Bachelor's in Fashion Design.
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 60ish from a private university in Panama. Also a few business and accounting courses completed at a public school.
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: none
Any certifications or military experience?: no
Budget: $10k or less.
Commitments: I work for a family business part-time.
Dedicated time to study: Full time.
Timeline: 1 year or so
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Zero
I'm looking to follow my dreams and complete a fashion design degree, but I can settle for a business degree if all that's left.
Any recommendations in online schools for international students? It could also be a EU school.

The Final Frontier: Capstone LIB-4970 or LIB-4950 for BACS and TESU's Recent Changes |

Hi everybody,
It won't take long till I'll register for the Capstone. That's why, I did some research on both this forum and what TESU's latest syllabus requires.
The most recent forum in terms of TESU changing the capstone requirements were discussed in is this thread: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...a-of-study
On MyProgress dashboard, I can select either LIB-4950 (LA Capstone-Humanities) or LIB-4970 (LA Capstone-NS, M, CS). As I intend to get my BACS, I'd naturally enroll in LIB-4970; however, I'd like to hear from others their experiences and opinions on taking this capstone or the humanities one as BACS student. You can find its corresponding syllabus here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11AxJ...IWZRTN6fk/
According to this LIB-4970 syllabus, you need to do this:
- Online discussions (5)—20%
- Written assignments (4)—30%
- ETS Major Field Test or Written Communication Assessment—10%
- E-Proficiency Profile—5%
- Capstone project (2 parts)—35%
- Academic research paper—25%
Oral presentation—10%
My questions are:
a) Did you study for the proctored ETS Major Field Test?
(see its requirements here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Gq8u...hGemjREXkI)
If yes, how long and which topics did you revisit?
Background why I ask that:
I took a glance at the tasks of this ETS test, and it appeared relatively straightforward, but I'm not sure whether - contrary to the statements in this document - you don't need to study that much or at all.
The thing is when I read the topics covered in that test (see here regarding the CS fields you are tested on: https://www.ets.org/pdfs/mft/comp-sci-te...iption.pdf), the BACS syllabus does not fully prepare you for that. For example, the test questions contain topics about automata, which you usually cover in a theoretical CS class / theory of computation / formal languages / automata theory (e.g. "The figure above represents a nondeterministic finite automaton with accepting state D. Which of the following does the automaton accept?")
However, TESU does not offer any course related to Theory of Computation / Formal languages. I haven't found any ACE-based courses either.
I have only found a course at the University of Helsinki, which I probably will take, see https://studies.helsinki.fi/courses/cour...e01c256a8b. MIT also offers an Open course (see https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/18-404j-theo.../readings/) in order to prepare for this part of the test.
They all basically use the same textbook by Sipser: Theory of Computation
b) What are the professors like regarding LIB-4970?
I checked the terms of LIB-4970 up to June term and only 3 professors are listed as instructors, and they seem to rotate for each term:
- Matthew Badtke
- Dr. Jelena Vucetic (see https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/professor/2607109)
- Dr. Denyse Lemaire-Ronveaux
I only found some info on Vucetic, but nothing on the others. Has anyone had any interaction with either of them and what their style and focus are like?
c) How much time did you invest in finding a topic before registering for it?
I have a couple of CS topics in mind and did some research, but I'm not sure how much time I should invest beforehand.
I'd appreciate any comments to this question.
d) Could any of the former BACS students who have graduated write about their experiences?
I would really appreciate it, if you could tell us what it was like from your point of view. I have some people in mind, such as bjcheung77, LevelUP, rachel83az, mariobros1985, and, of course, all others are invited to share their stories as well.
Thank you very much in advance.

TECEP Enrollment Question |

Just curious, if you pay $50 application fee and $52 for a TECEP, and you transfer in a bunch of credits for evaluation, would those credits be on your "Official" Transcript if you ordered one? Or do you actually need to pass the TECEP for those evaluated credits to show up on an Official Transcript? I've heard both sides of the coin...

Propanelord - ETAMU or UMPI Degree Plan |

Should I even bother applying to UMPI? I'm a transfer student with ~42 credits towards electrical engineering, but I'm trying to speed run a degree, I don't care much what it's in. I'm in Maine. I heard that ETAMU (formerly known as Texas A&M - Commerce) is also a great option.
I have yet to explore Straighterline, Sophia, or Study.com, but am looking forward to doing so and getting this done. Thank you

I'm interested in hearing the groups answers to who they think are in the top 5 schools in terms of:
which has the most course transfer options
which has the lowest per credit hour tuition
which CBE schools are the fastest
etc.
Also. I know Modern States is good for CLEP and I know about the ACE and NCCRS courses you can take, but where are some of the best places to find other microcertifications and full certificates that can be transferred into schools?
I'm looking for general knowledge not for a specific degree or school. Thanks.
