Finished my MAOL in 5 weeks and 3 days!! |

I finished my MAOL in just under 6 weeks (Fall 1 - 2024). This is not easy breezy, I put in many hours every day.
I've written about 50 papers/PowerPoint presentations, read many sources, watched many hours of YouTube videos on 2X, and applied tons of knowledge I already possessed from experience and books I've read. I'm ever so grateful that most of my reading has been professional development/leadership focused. That all helped me so much!
And now, my gift to you all, is this overview of the current day MAOL. Certainly, this could change, but I did 10 courses, and I'm very happy with what I learned, the projects I got to do that I can immediately use in my career, and I enjoyed nearly every professor I had.
Happy studies!!

Possible Pierpont BOG Alternative? EWVCC |

Kinda disappointed that Pierpont BOG now requires 12 institutional credits from Pierpont (Roughly $7-8k out of state). I wanted to help a family member finally get a college degree after so long.
I found the BOG program at Eastern West Virginia Community College
They require:
1. 60 credits total
2. Minimum 12 RA credit
3. Minimum 3 institutional credits (Tuition is same for in state/out state?) - Roughly $600 for 3 credits
4. They say that they take ACE and NCCRS credit but no specific language on Sophia, Study.com, Coursera, etc
5. 1 year after high school (So 19 year olds can get this?)
6. Cannot have any associates/bachelors degree already
In Total (Example Plan)
1. Sophia = $ 100x2 months = $200 for 48 credits
2. ASU UL = $425 x 3 courses = $1275 for 9 credits
3. EWVCC = $188 x 3 credits = $564 for 3 credits
Total for BOG EWVCC = $2039
$2000 is not super great for what we're used to here at $350 for the Pierpont BOG
Of course, the 9 other RA credits can be taken elsewhere such as Luna CC for $51/credit out of state (6 credits max per semester).
If one uses Luna CC, the total cost could be potentially be $1070.00 .
(I'm just a fan of super easy ASU UL self-paced courses).
Edit: They offer a few areas of emphasis with 15 credit requirements:
1. Administrative support
2. Business
3. Computer Information
4. Early Childhood Development
5. Information Technology

Transcript changes after graduation |

Let's say your graduate with a Bachelor's degree from TESU, but choose to stay enrolled in a second Bachelor's degree or Undergrad Certificate.
Then, you continue to submit additional credits through Credly.
Would the transcript of your first Bachelor's degree be updated with the new credits, even years after you have graduated? Or is the transcript "finalized" (=fixed), never to be changed the moment you graduate?

BA-LS vs w/Psych Concentration vs BA in Psych. |

Re. BA plan options:
Question:
Which one of these will be quickest and easiest, for me?
I'm assuming so far that the BA options I'm deciding between above are listed in order of expected time/effort, lower to higher. I also assume it's subjective: relative to my background, existing knowledge and interests.
Context:
Ed. background: I don't have many RA/transfer credits on my TESU launch pad, and I'm not sure how many I'll get from Navy training, yet. That transfer credit intake and evaluation process should complete soon. Hopefully next week (mid Oct).
Personal/professional interests and personality:
I've long identified myself as a humanities and creative/artist type, very broadly. I used to read A LOT of literary fiction. Pretty much the entire American literary canon. Just from personal interest. At one point I wanted to be a writer/journalist. Translating that to a career in Silicon Valley, where I grew up, meant taking tech writing courses. But I soon switched to Graphic Design, in a trade/career school (not RA sadly), for career development. Timing was good as the web took off in the late 90s and I've been 100% all around web development guy ever since. Humanizing technology. Subjects I most naturally gravitate to are history, philosophy and mythology. Psychology is really an extension of that, and it crosses over in to my career in human factors/usability for web/software design, too. I do a lot of user interviews and other kinds of user research, professionally. I hope this adds context for your input about which program/plan of those above are most likely help me achieve my BA goal with least/time effort.
___
Location: SF Bay Area
Age: GenX (old!)
Degree goal: BA LS. I think I’d like psychology concentration. But fastest=best so either way.
Current RA Credits: ~10? (Intake ongoing, no eval yet.)
Current ACE/CLEP/NCCRS Credits: 0
Any certifications or military experience?: Navy. 80’s. OTA3 (anti-submarine). No ACE certs. Two non-ACE:
- Human Factors International, Certified Usability Analyst.
- Norman Neilson Group (NN/g), Ux Management Certified.
Budget: ~8k?
Timeframe: 1 year!
Dedicated time to study: About 15 hours/week max. (TBD if all above jibes or it may take longer but this is my firm target.)
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: No external support yet. Private funds.

Which school do you think is the best for competency based program? |

Hello, everyone!
I looked at the schools on the list of competency based programs at the wiki (https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Co...d_Programs).
Now I'm considering transferring my AS to either of three universities:
- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
- B.S. in Information Science and Technology (UW Flex Option)- $2,250 / 12 weeks
- Purdue University Global
- ExcelTrack® Bachelor of Science in Cloud Computing and Solutions- $2,500 / 10 weeks
- University of Massachusetts Global
- B.S. in Information Technology-Data Science (MyPath)- $3,300 / 24 weeks
UMass Global's cost is really attractive, but I couldn't get enough reviews and opinions about the university or the program. Also, I'm not sure whether these programs require proctored exams. It wouldn't be a serious problem, but still, I'm uncomfortable with a cam or person proctoring.
Does anyone know these programs or universities? And what do you think? I need opinions.
