Does anyone here have any experience with this program? I am in-state so this program would be fairly affordable for me.

English comp 2 vs Worplace Writing 2
Posted by: NewbieLearner - 10-11-2024, 09:12 AM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (16)

Hi all. just a quick question here.
looking at the spreadsheet here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...=524351696

it shows that Sophia Eng Comp2 and Worplace Writing 2 BOTH cover the requirements for 1B 2C and 4B

is this correct that they are interchangeable?   Does anyone have a suggestion as to which is quicker / easier?

from the number of challenges and the 1 less touchstone it looks like Workplace 2 would be the better choice

thanks!

The number of modules vary per course. Each module ends with one ten-question quiz.

Free Spanish language college degrees UNAM SUAYED
Posted by: Avidreader - 10-10-2024, 04:44 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (6)

I am sharing yet another post featuring a Mexican public university offering online college degrees. The UNAM is a highly prestigious university that is famous for its practically free in person degrees (students only pay 1 penny as a symbolic payment).
Their online university has been operating for quite a few years and has increased popularity after expanding their degree offerings. Unlike the other schools, this one is 100% free (at least for Mexican citizens).
The cons however are that tons of people try to sign up (slots are limited), sign ups are only once a year, you cannot accelerate the degrees at all and people have complained that their Comp Science degree has some outdated information and the workload and essays absorb huge amounts of time, which makes it a difficult option for people working full time. People have also mentioned there are obligatory synchronized classes in varying schedules.

Some degrees are offered on specific regional branches. Applicants are encouraged to ask for more info because some degrees demand students to physically travel to the school's branch for exams. I am not sure if they do proctored online exams, might have to ask around.

Bachelor degrees:

Administration of documents (archieving degree?)
Accounting
Library technology and information studies
Communications (Journalism focus)
Political Science (Administrative focus)
Political Science (Politics focus)
Business administration
Law
Graphics design
Economy
Nursing (I assume part of the degree forcibly requires rotations in mexican hospitals)
Teaching German as a foreign language
Teaching French as a foreign langage
Teaching Spanish as a foreign language
Teaching English as a foreign language
Teaching Italian as a foreign language
Education
Psychology
Internaional Relations
Sociology
Social work

Masters degrees

Teaching Spanish as a foreign language
Dental hygenist specialization

  Has anyone done PLAR credit?
Posted by: CollegeStudentAC - 10-10-2024, 03:40 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (8)

I know the acceptance of courses/certifications/experience varies per institution, but if anyone has gone through this process, I'd like to know how it went for them.

I feel this avenue should be more well-known as you are not always required to do a knowledge exam. Depending on the institution, just submitting your education/experience itself can be enough.

  Coastline.edu California associates ACE credit?
Posted by: danyfondue10 - 10-10-2024, 06:40 AM - Forum: Associates Degrees Discussion - Replies (1)

Hello my friends, I heard that California was strict on ACE credits however Coastline.edu states that they accept up to 40 ACE credits. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Coastline.edu accepting ACE credits?

Further more does anyone have any experience with this school? How are the classes? Is it a good school? Thanks.

  National University info?
Posted by: Randyb100 - 10-09-2024, 03:53 PM - Forum: Doctorate Degree Discussion - Replies (4)

I did search and didn't find anything listed at all, even undergrad. They have a lot of doctoral programs, including a juris doctor, completely online. It is a regionally accredited university out of San Diego.

National University

I am personally interested in their PhD in Cybersecurity and their Juris Doctor program. It's not Bar accredited, but it has been by Calbar since 1981 (just Googled that, actually).
