  Acacia - DBA 11k - DEAC
Posted by: Imbanewbie - 11-12-2025, 10:26 AM - Forum: Doctorate Degree Discussion - Replies (9)

I just found that Acacia University offers really affordable programs. Their Doctor of Business Administration is only $11K and the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership is around $10K. Both programs are DEAC accredited. It’s definitely one of the more affordable doctoral choices.

Looking for a masters in early childhood development....
Posted by: ANEJiPAR - 11-12-2025, 07:00 AM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (10)

I am finishing up my PSY degree at UMPI this term. I have loved UMPI and have moved through my courses very quickly. I love the model and the pricing structure.....the faster you finish the less it costs!

I am now trying to find a suitable option for my masters. I really would love something more research based. My biggest interest is NAS babies/children and the affects of drugs in utero and how that presents in childhood/teen years. I realize that is fairly specialized but just so you know some background.

I have found a few options or masters in early childhood development but I keep reading bad reviews. (capella, walden)

Does anyone have a program they could recommend somewhere along the lines of childhood development that is structured in a way I can complete quicker and pay less, that is still reputable?

  Doing another Bachelors
Posted by: Mint Berry Crunch - 11-11-2025, 04:07 PM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (8)

If I was interested in another Bachelors and I wanted to do it at TESU, would I still be able to apply 114/120 credits towards it? I have completed a few Bachelors programs already, but I'd like to check out TESU's B.S. Computer Science program. I also anticipate people will ask "why"? Simply, because I want to.

Is the free ECTS party over?
Posted by: Maniac Craniac - 11-11-2025, 02:51 PM - Forum: Free Courses and Certificates and Good Deals - Replies (3)

There were a handful of free European credit sources that were once talked about on this board. But the older threads I've seen eventually devolved into lament that courses were no longer available or severely limited, or included a bunch of fees on the backend. Are there any still active/available?

  UMPI - Healthcare Administration Degree
Posted by: joshua27 - 11-11-2025, 11:19 AM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (1)

Hello all, my wife is looking to obtain a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration at UMPI.  She currently has an associate of applied science so I know she will have some transfer credit but has anyone already put together a suitable degree plan for the Healthcare Administration degree?

I previously graduated from UMPI with a BABA in Supply Chain by utilizing this forum's help so I'm hoping to find a good path to lead her down.  Thanks in advance!

Straighterline transfers straight to TESU or have to go through ACE?
Posted by: suzycupcake - 11-11-2025, 07:30 AM - Forum: Saylor.org, Straighterline, Study.com, Sophia.Org, Coursera Discussion - Replies (8)

Hi!
The last time I transferred any courses from straighter line, I believe they had to go through ACE and then to TESU. Is that still the process? Thanks in advance!

Purdue Global MBA / UMPI MsB Transfer Credit
Posted by: MasterPlan92 - 11-08-2025, 04:38 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (2)

Hello Lovely people!  Big Grin
I am finishing up my BSIT from PUG and looking ahead to my Masters. Unfortunately, I did not do the Pathway program that allows you to take 2 Graduate Level courses during your Bachelors because I was scared I wouldnt be able to reach my goal of graduating in 2 terms. I now regret it because I was more then able to! I transferred in 111 credits from Sophia and Coursera and then knocked out 60 credits this first Semester already. I just have 1 course left and then my Capstone alone in Jan (2nd Semester). 4.0 GPA so far  Big Grin
I am considering MsB UMPI & MBA Purdue Global. Leabing towards PUG because I already know what to expect. My question is, how can I use my final Semester (Jan - March) to complete some Graduate level credits along side my Capstone to start my Masters off right? Is there ANY Certs or courses I can take that will be Accepted by Purdue or UMPI for their Masters?
(Sorry for the weird formatting! This is my first post and its from my phone)

Free Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft, and Certiport certifications in WA state
Posted by: daydream - 11-08-2025, 02:36 PM - Forum: Free Courses and Certificates and Good Deals - Replies (2)

I added this to the degreeforum wiki but thought I'd give a heads up here. For anyone that's in Washington state, the Washington State Library has a free technical certificate program in which you can take plenty of exams free of charge. ACE recommends credit for most of the exams that the library pays for. Feel free to add any course equivalencies to the table.

Kean U and NJCU sign merger...

Kean University and NJCU Sign Definitive Merger Agreement to Launch Kean Jersey City, this is from last month...

So, Kean University and NJCU are merging plus launching with a new name... Kean Jersey City, that's the name of the new university, seems like a bold move to merge, but I guess it was needed to bolster enrollment for both institutions and have their programs aligned properly.

What are my options for taking 5 courses if I don't want to pay residency waiver fee?
Posted by: ArboristFlames - 11-07-2025, 03:54 PM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (4)

So I have received credit for all courses except for the Capstone and Information Literacy course. This is for a CS degree.

I do not want to pay the residency requirement waiver fee and will be taking 5 courses at TESU.

I'm wondering how I'm required to go about this.

Since I only have 2 specific courses remaining, but need 5 total to fulfill the residency requirement, can the 3 courses I take be any courses? Even ones I've already received transfer credit for but did not take at TESU?

Do I need to enrol in some sort of other diploma or program at TESU to be able to enroll in 5 courses given that my My Progress page says I only need 2 courses? I thought I read something about having to do this.

And regarding mid term examinations, can I get a score under 50% on a midterm examination and still pass the course as long as the rest of my grades for that course are high enough?

Thanks!!!!
