Hi Everyone,
My little cousin lives in texas just graduated high school and I convinced her to take a ton of sophia credit during the summmer. She has about 70+ credits both between her AP courses and Sophia and was about to start applying to schools in texas. I told her to try out ETAMU! Do you guys know if they take Sophia credit? I read a post a few years back that TAMUC may not accept sophia credits anymore but I cant find that post. Thank you!

Straighterline is launching a "Finish Your Degree" promo tomorrow (Weds. Aug 6).
New students to Straighterline can enroll in any of their top gen ed courses (I listed them below) for free and have until Dec. 6, 2025 to complete the courses. No course cost or monthly fee. Totally free.
My niece plans to knock out 6 courses by 12/6, but I'm sure a lot of you move faster with self-paced courses. She's new to this whole thing.

She clicked on "Claim Your Free Semester" and got an email that said she'll get login details for her account tomorrow. No credit card needed. Tomorrow she'll grab the gen eds she needs, but she won't start until after Labor Day, so the extra time is nice.
Here are the courses that are in the promo - most or all, no longer have proctoring. Looks like they're removing proctoring altogether. Just check syllabi to make sure.
Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II, Business Communication, Eng Comp I, Eng Comp II, General Chemistry I, Intro to Biology, Intro to Communication, Intro to Nutrition, Intro to Psychology, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Statistics, Life-Span Development, Medical Terminology, Microbiology, and Student Success.
I left out the courses with labs because that's extra money, but they're in the promo too (A&P, Bio, Microbio, Physics, Biochem, and Chem).

My last TECEP was taken in the September 2024 term, and to maintain my enrollment I was planning to enroll for one in the Sept 2025 term. But now I looked at the catalog and it says to maintain your enrollment you need to register for a course *before* the year is up. It's confusing language, because registration is different from taking a course, but ...
Will taking the tecep in the Sept 2025 term maintain my enrollment, or should I try to register for August 2025 (paying late registration fees as required)?

So I was doing a second bachelor degree of CS, I plan to register TECEP which is Medical Terminology for the next term so that I can request a transcript, however, after successfully paying for the course, the course was dropped. I called the registration office they told me the course was dropped per advising.
What does it mean? Does it mean that the course was dropped by academic advisors because it does not fit into my degree program?
Or was the course dropped because Medical Terminology was not offered for the August Term?
Does anyone have similar experiences? How were you able to register a TECEP course that does not fit your degree program?

I have 101 credits total (this includes in AA degree) that are from 1995 and earlier. Lots of regrets that I didn’t finish. I would like to now. Ideally, I’d love to finish my Bachelor’s degree in psychology and complete a Masters in order to be a therapist, LPC or LCSW. Not sure how feasible the masters is given the intern hours required etc but I definitely want to at least complete my bachelors degree. After my general ed courses, the rest of my credits are psych classes.
Suggestions as to online schools where I’ll get the most transfer credits accepted and that have lower in house credit requirements. Interested especially in ones that allow me to complete credits rapidly.

I am creating this topic at the request of forum users.
I will be glad if this information and my experience will help you.
Ask your questions.
In September 2024, I enrolled into Walsh College's Doctor of Business Administration in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The program is a collaboration of Walsh College and GreatLearning.

The admission process was simple and straightforward. 2-3 phone calls, verification of diplomas and an entrance fee of 1000.
The program costs 12500$. I can provide a referral link with a discount.
Here is an example for the first part of the doctoral program.

The program is designed for three years.
As a result, you will receive three diplomas:
PG Diploma in AIML from Texas University
MS in AIML from Walsh
DBA from Walsh
I enrolled in September. The studies were supposed to start in January, but were postponed for a month and started in February.
By February, we had to independently complete preparatory courses at the LMS. It were 7 ungraded courses.
The courses were about Python and an introduction to artificial intelligence.
Sometimes there were online webinars. Where the theory was explained, and you could ask questions.
The PGP began in February. It will continue until September.
Then, until the end of the year, there will be a bridge program from Great Learning.
The second year is devoted to the master's program. The third is devoted to the doctoral courses and dissertation.
The doctoral part will include a mandatory oral general examination.
So it's not just about checking a box, this is real academic education.
PGP consists of 7 modules or courses.
A typical module lasts 4 weeks.
Each week, there are videos and texts for learning in the LMS. Materials are from the University of Texas and Great Learnings. Also, each section ends with an ungraded quiz. Materials and quizzes are optional and do not affect progress.
There is a two-hour webinar on Saturday. The first part explains the theory for the week. The second part is dedicated to practice and live coding. The webinar is hosted by a lecturer from Great Learnings.
Attendance at the webinar is mandatory. If you miss it, you need to watch the recording. The percentage of webinars watched affects the grade.
There is a mandatory graded quiz at the end of the week. 10 questions, 40 minutes. The result affects the grade.
If you miss the deadline for a good reason, you need to ask the program advisor for an extension. They usually respond quickly and are ready to help.
There is a mandatory project at the end of the module. It contributes the most to the final grade.
There are two options for completing the project. The project is done on a Jupiter notebook.
The business path requires minimal programming. The task is almost solved, you just need to add a few variables or lines of code. The result obtained needs to be analyzed, and a presentation prepared.
The programming path requires independent problem-solving, but no presentation is required.
You can choose a convenient path for each project.
There may or may not be a break between modules.
Hackathons are held during the holiday breakі. They are voluntary and not graded. But they are very interesting.
That's all for now.
At this point, I've passed Python - Foundations, Machine Learning, Advanced Machine Learning, Introduction To Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing with Generative AI.
The modules are not very theoretically and mathematically heavy. They are more focused on studying the corresponding Python libraries and practice. In comparison, the courses from MIT were much more theoretically difficult and almost did not include practice.
