TESU AA -> ASU Online BBA
Posted by: Tokusan - 03-28-2025, 06:37 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I've put together a degree plan that includes earning a TESU AA first then transfer to ASU Online for a BA in Business Administration.

Here is a link to my initial degree plan

The reason for earning the TESU AA first is that ASU accepts the AA as a total package that automatically fulfills all lower-division general education requirements. ASU also allows up to 60 credit-by-exam credits toward a degree, and up to 90 total transferred credits. The ASU BBA degree requirement is 120 credits total, with minimum 30 credits completed at ASU.

My plan is to transfer ~78 credits into ASU. Relying on a mix of CLEP, DSST, TECEP to maximize the credit-by-exam allotment and transferred credits, 20 previously earned credits from a community college, and some of ASU's own low-cost ULCs (Universal Learner Courses) toward the ASU BBA.

Please take a look and poke holes in my plan, any suggestions or recommendations are welcome.

  Georgia Tech Admissions? ACE, GPA?
Posted by: glancing7924 - 03-28-2025, 04:25 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (12)

In regards to OMSCS does Georgia Tech accept students from TESU where they hacked most of the degree through Sophia and Study.com? Do they ask for transcripts from them before admissions? Do they calculate that into their GPA requirements?

Also, I took some classes at UMPI, where I failed a few classes but replaced those grades with ACE credits and got removed from my GPA. Does Georgia Tech still count those F's as part of your GPA? Do they even ask for those transcripts?

Question What would you tell the Provost of Charter Oak State College?
Posted by: SteveFoerster - 03-28-2025, 03:46 PM - Forum: COSC - Charter Oak State College Discussion - Replies (23)

Hi everyone, I'm pretty busy these days, so I can't be as active on this forum as I might like, so some may not know that I'm a longtime member of the Charter Oak State College Alumni Association Board of Directors, and currently am your Vice President.

In late April a few other alumni and I will have the opportunity to meet with Charter Oak's Provost, Dr. David Ferreira, to discuss the approach that the institution is taking. Please help me help Charter Oak by doing the following:

1. If you are an alum, please consider attending this meeting online (or on campus!) It's scheduled for 1pm EDT on Monday, April 28th. I'll post details in this thread as I get them. (I'd also encourage you to join the Alumni Association Board of Directors! Ask me how!)

2. If you are an alum who is informed about changes in the institution's approach, or perhaps more importantly if you did not choose Charter Oak and can articulate why, please respond with your experience in this thread. Fair warning: I plan to print it out and bring it with me to show that I'm not the only one who believes that in a time of challenging enrollment figures, one thing that Charter Oak can do to be attractive to working adults, both in Connecticut and beyond, is remain as flexible as possible.

Thank you for helping Charter Oak State College!

CBE Accelerated Masters in Supply Chain
Posted by: pearblossom - 03-28-2025, 12:59 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (2)

Hello,

I am looking for a masters level program, CBE,  that I can accelerate in supply chain (or something very similar such as logistics).

I am not looking for MBA programs with a concentration in supply chain.

I see that UPMI is going to eventually offer a MSB in Supply Chain, and that would be perfect. Unfortunately since its not going to be released this fall from what I have read, that wont fit my timeline.

Thanks!

Question Sophia's Microbiology Transfer Equivalency to TESU? LL or UL?
Posted by: Ares - 03-28-2025, 02:17 AM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (7)

I would interested in multiple reports of what Sophia's Microbiology has been transferring in to TESU as.

The DF Wiki is not clear as it mentions:

Quote:TESU Equivalent: "BIO-2520 Introduction to Microbiology w/o Lab *may require appeal if initially brought in as BIO-1999"

It is a big difference if it is LL or UL credit for an AOS.

Taking the Capstone With 93 Credits Completed
Posted by: glancing7924 - 03-28-2025, 12:31 AM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (3)

I am pursuing a BA Computer Science degree.

I am currently taking 9 credits at TESU right  now through mostly pell grants. Next semester I want to take the Capstone and the Cornerstone which will be covered mostly through Pell Grants. I will not be eligible for Pell grants after that. So from there I will move on to finishing my degree through alternative credits.

By the start of next semester I should have 93 credits completed towards my CS degree. Will I be able to take the capstone?

By the start of next semester I should also be 18 credits away from getting a BALS with Computer Science Concentration. Should I change my degree to a BALS, take the capstone, then change my degree back to a CS?

Gender and Race as Social Constructs

(03-27-2025, 07:10 PM)Ares Wrote: I checked, not all colleges require a useless Sociology course and not all colleges attempt to brainwash their students with fictitious things like "white privilege" and scientific illiterate nonsense that there are more than 2 genders.

Gender is a social construct, not scientific. It is entirely human created. You would know that if you took a sociology class.
