Need Advice On Becoming A Licensed Mental Health Counselor |

Here's my info:
Your Location: New York (moving to VA or FL in 18 months)
Your Age: 42
What kind of degree do you want?: MA in counseling, psychology, or similar.
Current Regionally Accredited Credits: 128 (Finishing UMPI CRJ this term. 14 classes in 1 term. Rest of credits come from Sophia)
Any certifications or military experience?: No
Budget: $20,000
Commitments: I own a business and only work about 5 hours a week.
Dedicated time to study: 30+ hours a week
Timeline: 1 Year without clinical work which I believe is 1,000 hours.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: I'm paying for myself.
So far, I looked at Kairos, but I can't find much information about them and don't know how legit they are. I would REALLY prefer CBE if possible because I really like to get through classes quickly (I have the time). I also looked at LU, but they won't take me because I currently live in NY, and their licensing programs aren't available here.
My END goal is to become a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, so if there's a better path, I'm all for it. My thought was to get the LPC and do therapy while I go on to ABSN and then a practitioner program.
Thanks!!!

Has anyone looked into the program? I know that degree info had one post about it. You can transfer in up to 90 credits or 75% of the degree. It's $2400 per 4 month term and is completed on a phone app. I've decided to approach the program and will document my progress if I truly enroll after my transfer credit is evaluated. Unfortunately they do not take transfer credit from study.com. I am unsure about other alternative credit providers.

Tesu Music Degree |

Hi all, I am interested in the Bachelor of Music at Tesu. I have a Bachelors in Sociology and Masters in Social Work. So this would be a second degree, and not career related. It's for my own personal interest so there is no rush on completing anything. Is there a path to completing it with the required Music credits. It looks like some do have to be transferred in. And is there any difference to this being a second degree. Also I still have residency in Pennsylvania so it would be considered in state for any tuition purposes. Thank you.

Crestpoint University DEAC accredited vs Excelsior |

My son is looking at getting a bachelor's in psychology thru either Crestpoint for $8000 along with his high school degree or for 16k thru excelsior. My question: is there a disadvantage to getting a degree thru Crestpoint that is not regionally accredited as opposed to excelsior that is regionally accredited but twice as expensive? He wants to go on and get a masters in therapy and counseling. Will most graduate schools accept that degree?

Shout out to Dustin on the other channel |

Though I no longer participate on the other channel, I do check on the "Recent Posts" from time to time. As I've mentioned before, I am delighted to see Dustin is enjoying the Great Books of the Western World by his own method. He posted that he is currently reading the Iliad.I think that's awesome! I am enjoying reading and discussing the Great Books with my cohort in the Basic Program. To me the discussions add value to the time invested in the readings. While reading Homer, In addition to my cohort discussions, I really enjoyed Erica's commentary on Homer. I think she's fun and provocative https://youtu.be/3_CuVdOzr4Y?si=xC9hR0PFRTJrdNWV
I recommend her channel to Dustin and anyone else interested in Homer and Greek Mythology.
