I've read a couple of studies that suggest that most American college graduates are functionally illiterate. Sometimes, people misread things, but when multiple college-educated people can't understand a basic question, that is concerning. The current panic is over Gen Z, but it's clear that this problem extends to Millennials and Gen X.

I asked, "For those who were searching for online programs 10+ years ago when options were fewer, why didn't you go to a for-profit college?"

People who did choose for-profit colleges answered the question, even though the question was not for them. People who were searching for face-to-face programs answered the question, even though the question was explicitly not for them.

As my employer is paying for partial costs, they will only pay if they are accredited through the National Clearinghouse as that is whom they verify college when doing background checks. Is this something they are working on currently?

I'm at a point in my life where I've raised my kids and now want to work on myself. I never finished my degree and am looking at online courses. I only want to go part time as I have a demanding job, and I want to try this out. I was looking at TESU as they seem to offer more online courses than UMPI and I can go for an associates. What is the best course for someone who wants to "try out" college part time? I'm thinking General Studies.

If you're doing a TESU bachelor's degree with two areas of study, do you need only 18 credits to be upper level for the whole degree?  Or do both areas of study need 18 upper level credits?

Take a BA in Math and Biology for example.  Not really any overlapping upper level classes in these subjects, except the capstone can be double counted.

So does this degree require 18 upper level credits, or is it (18+18 - 3 for the capstone) 33 upper level credits, split between the two subjects?

My goddaughter has narrowed down her choices to UoPeople's A.S. in Computer Science or A.S. in Health Science.

I know these courses are already pretty cheap, but I know she would prefer to take as many courses elsewhere as possible.

Would this plan work for the Computer Science one?

I just wanted everyone to know that my TESU degree and NCCRS and ACE-transferred credits, etc. were accepted and I will be able to sit for the CPA exam. A lot of my courses came from Study.com many years ago.

I wanted to post this because I was worried about TONS of stuff and have been for years. I will point out that depending on your state, your experience may not be the same. I don't know exactly how my credits were evaluated by the NASBA because they didn't provide that information.

My biggest concern was that courses that generally might be considered upper level were posted as lower level on the TESU transcript. I was worried that I wouldn't have enough upper level credits (to the NASBA), but somehow, this was not an issue. I was expecting to have to take one upper level course and spent a ton of time thinking about how I would fulfill that.

There were also rumors that transferred in credits wouldn't appear on the TESU-mailed transcript. NCCRS and ACE credits appear under 'Assessment Credits' and were included.

So, we tend to worry about stuff and a lot of the stuff we worry about never actually happens. If you have a really strict state, you might have problems. Once I become a CPA and then have to look for work, the issues with mobility and qualifications might come up at that point, but for now, I am going to sit for the exams and pass them which is the biggest hurdle.

Has anyone enrolled in the CBE M.Min.? Wondering the pace, can it be completed in 6months?
