  Proctored Exams Sophia/SL?
Posted by: SebasUSA2024 - 08-19-2024, 12:53 PM - Forum: Saylor.org, Straighterline, Study.com, Sophia.Org, Coursera Discussion - Replies (6)

Does TESU accept the College Algebra class from Sophia? And does anybody know if the class at Sophia has a proctored exam? I cannot find that info online. It just talks about quizzes, etc.

  BOG credit requirements
Posted by: Tb13 - 08-18-2024, 09:11 PM - Forum: Associates Degrees Discussion - Replies (6)

hi everyone

I hope this message finds you well. Due to the new residency requirement, I am feeling quite stressed and want to ensure that all necessary documents are in order before any changes take effect. I applied to Pierpont on August 10th and sent my transcripts on August 8th and 10th. I received my acceptance to Pierpont on August 16th. However, I have not received any confirmation regarding my transcripts, and I am uncertain if I meet the graduation requirements. It is crucial for me to know if I meet these requirements as soon as possible. I reached out to the new advisor and haven’t received a response yet. Any information you can provide will be incredibly helpful.

  WGU Early Education Degree
Posted by: Eduteach - 08-18-2024, 06:53 PM - Forum: WGU - Western Governors University Discussion - Replies (3)

Your Location: Idaho
Your Age:50
What kind of degree do you want?: BS Early Education

Current Regional Accredited Credits:AS Early Childhood Education from the mid-90s in California. I've noticed on my transcript that I can only use 57 of my credits in the CSU system and 29 in the UC system these days. My Eng 101 and Algebra apparently count as zero credit now but were fine for my AS degree back then.

Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits:None
Any certifications or military experience?:No, but tons of preschool teaching experience.
Budget: $5,000 is ideal but can go higher
Commitments: 20 hour work week, spouse, children are grown
Dedicated time to study: Roughly 30 hours
Timeline: Any, but prefer the sooner the better
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: None
Other information: Idaho is a state where people with a bachelor's degree in any subject can gain teacher certification through American Board.
I've often wondered if I should start all over again, honestly. I have no idea how many of my credits will transfer to WGU (or any of the Big 3 for that matter).

100% Scholarship for Everyone at Luther Seminary
Posted by: sanantone - 08-18-2024, 04:15 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - No Replies

It's hard to find information on what percentage of their curriculum is available online. The graduate certificate is fully online after a 2 or 3-day campus visit. They say they offer "distributed learning."

Luther Seminary appears to be very liberal, and they might be open to accepting UU and religiously-unaffiliated students. You do need at least one pastor/ministry recommendation for most of their programs. If you're anti-gay or anti-trans, this might not be the seminary for you. On the other hand, if you're turned off by seminaries that focus on anti-LGBTQ literature, then Luther Seminary might be a better environment.

A big bonus is that Luther is ATS-accredited.

Please advise on my next classes for a TESU BSc
Posted by: kt320 - 08-18-2024, 12:42 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (2)

Hi all!

I'm moving slowly on my Aviation BSc  but just finished my AoS items other than the capstone.    I would like some more advise please for where to take these classes.

I need 18 RA credits from these and 9 TESU credits.    My goal is quickest and easiest (of course).   Study.com sounds like its a good option for Physics 1?    Not many e-packs available.  So need to find a full course to take at TESU.

Thanks ahead for any and all input!

A. Intellectual and Practical Skills
English Composition I
English Composition II
Oral Communication - (SDC?)

B. Civic and Global Learning
Diversity - (Introduction to Sociology e-pack?)
Civic Engagement - (American Government e-pack?)

AoS
Principles of Statistics. - (CLEP, or ASU,Outlier)
Physics I - (SDC?)
Physics 1 Lab only - (TESU?)
Physics II w Lab  - (TESU?)
PreCalculus - (ASU, or Outlier)
