Hi all,
I searched the forum and Purdue University Global discussions on experience seem to be years ago, just after being Kaplan. Has anyone taken the ExcelTrack MBA recently, within the last year? Would love to hear some more recent feedback on experience of the platform and courses, etc. I am considering going that route after I obtain my bachelor's from ETAMU.
If I overlooked any recent forums discussing the PUG MBA Exceltrack please feel free to link them as a comment.
Thank You

Does UMPI accepts ECTS credits easily? |

Hi everyone,
I currently hold 300 ECTS credits from a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree earned at European universities in fields related to engineering and art. Additionally, I’ve completed some título propio credits in areas connected to psychology, such as counseling.
I’m planning to apply to UMPI soon for the BA in Psychology and am in the process of designing a personalized study plan using Sophia and Study.com. However, I’m wondering if any of my existing ECTS credits could potentially transfer over as General Electives for the BA program, of course, after the NACES process.
Has anyone had experience with credit transfers in a similar situation? While I don’t mind completing 35 courses through Sophia, it would be great to have some of my previous credits recognized.
Looking forward to hearing about your experiences!
Thanks in advance,

I need to review the individual credit hours, as some are quarter system and a few semester, so I haven't listed them, but in all, I have 117 credits that were accepted or completed at Excelsior by 2010. I was active in this forum and working on College Algebra in anticipation of attaining a BS in Business, MIS Concentration, when my bandwidth for studies dried up due to work commitments.
Budget: I want to minimize the new work I have to do, and especially speedrun anything where I have to take a conventional distance class for tuition reimbursement. I am in the Evaluation process at EU and looking at the current catalog, I expect that at a minimum I need to do 18 credits/7 with them, (Cornerstone, Crapstone, Bus Writing, Leadership, HR Mgt, Intl Biz) depending on the eval. I can readily afford items like subscriptions, testing fees, etc. If it's more than 18 or EU pushes for more than 7 credits in their world, I will start looking harder at options.
I'm pretty sure they are going to offer me BPS instead of BS, due to the age of my credits plus no longer offering a MIS concentration. I have an emotional reaction to this, but I suspect the utility of the degree is sufficient for my purposes, which are checking the box so that I don't have to answer questions about it from recruiters, satisfying myself, and taking some grad courses. I welcome insight on utility of the BPS from anyone with experience with it. I may do a masters, will almost certainly do a grad certificate of one sort or another.
Commitments: work, spouse with a disability.
Dedicated time to study: 2-3 hours daily; I can sprint more if needed.
Timeline: asap (I expect to be "in the job market" within 12 months), so prefer to be done with courses that I need to reimburse before the year is half over. Already into SDC (nearly done with Globalization & Intl Biz); I wish all the resources we have now had been there in 2010, I wouldn't be in this mess if there had been SDC, Sophia, etc.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: $5K/ year, as long as I'm employed. I pay upfront.
Thanks for looking

Curious about TEL Learning - Finishing BACS / BSBA from TESU |

Hi there,
I am curious if anyone knows how these TEL courses transfer into TESU through their transcribing colleges?
Introduction to Information Technology - would this be BUS-104? Wondering if it would work as BSBA AOS.
Quantitative Analysis I - would this be BUS-210 to satisfy the quantitative skills requirement of BSBA?
Also, what is the course format? Is it just quizzes and tests? I didn't find much information on their site.
I am in the process of finishing up my BACS and BSBA from TESU and I have maxed out Non-RA credits. I still need to complete a few RA courses to finish up both degrees, along with a single term at TESU.
For the BACS, I still need: COS-111, COS-451, CIS-351, LIB-495
And for the BSBA, I still need: SIS-150, BUS-210, BUS-495, plus 1 programming and 2 AOS electives
I have already completed the following RA courses. Everything else in Non-RA:
MAT-210 - Calculus,: ASU
SOS-110 - Critical Reasoning : TESU
SOC-110 - Introduction to Sociology : TECEP
CIS-107 - Computer Concepts : TECEP
BUS-101 - Intro to Business : TECEP
I am thinking about a combination of TECEP, TEL, and ASU to close the gap so that I can take my 5 BACS courses at TESU plus the BUS-495 in one term.
Looking for information about TEL but I am open to other ideas as well.

Enrolling BLS - accounting |

Hi everyone. just need some advice here. I've been going through the Class Review Master Thread a bit but could use some updated thoughts from you all
Everything from Sophia transferred besides the 2 credit Statistics course which I expected. This gives me a total of 109 credits going in.
I'm in the process of enrolling now. I was thinking the BaBa - Accounting But I would need to complete 15 courses at UMPI to make that work
So I think I will probably switch to the BLS - Accounting but I am open to thoughts on this.
I contacted WGU and their MBA only requires basically ANY Bachelors so I think I am ok with that if I go that way after UMPI
BABA - Accounting I would need the following 15 still
BUS 200 - Intermediate Business Computing (RQ9583)
BUS 220 - Managerial Accounting (RQ9583)
BUS 244 - Management Information Systems (RQ9583)
BUS 325 - Financial Management (RQ9583)
BUS 440 - Business Analytics (RQ9583)
BUS 469 - Strategic Professional Communication (RQ9583)
MAT 140 - Mathematics for Business (RQ9583)
COM 210 - Organizational Communication (RQ9583)
BUS 352 - Business Law II (RQ8267)
BUS 361 - Intermediate Accounting (RQ8267)
BUS 362 - Intermediate Accounting II (RQ8267)
BUS 376 - Independent Auditing (RQ8267)
BUS 377 - Federal Taxation I (RQ8267)
BUS 378 - Federal Taxation II (RQ8267)
BUS 464 - Advanced Accounting (RQ8267)
If I go the BLS - Accounting way I would need the following break down
Required:
220 Managerial accounting
361 Intermediate accounting
362 Intermediate accounting
Then any 2 from these choices:
352 Business law 2
376 Independent auditing
377 Federal Taxation 1
378 Federal taxation 2
464 Advanced accounting
Then I would need 4 more courses in the 300 or above level
and finally 1 more course at any level to complete my 30 credits.
Any suggestions are welcome here.
Is it worth trying to make this a BLS in Business AND Accounting (dual minor) ?
can anyone suggest what are the quickest / easiest to fulfill my req's here? Especially something I can knock out quick for my 1 any level course and the 4 uppers in whatever
thanks everyone

UMPI WGU and Pell Grant |

Hello all, I’m nearing my enrollment in UMPI transferring with 90 credits for the BAS Management Info systems degree after completing the PierPont AAS.
I have $5000 of tuition reimbursement through my employer and may have a Pell Grant for roughly $7000.
I’m trying to figure out how to capitalize on the education I’m able to get utilizing these in this academic year.
Unsure if this would work I’m wondering if anyone has some sage wisdom.
My thought process is that I can attend UMPI for 1-2 terms to finish out the BAS for $3k~ using the Pell grant then enroll in a cybersecurity BS at WGU to use the remaining Pell Grant and tuition reimbursement available. (Since I don’t believe I can apply the Pell Grant to a masters program)
I have the general education requirements for WGU and 3 of the CompTIA certs but otherwise not the 90 credits possible.
Since the term would be free I was thinking to attend and complete as many classes as I can then take the three month gap from the program WGU allows and return with either more transfer credits (can I do that ?) or when more funding is available to me.
Would this work with the Pell Grant ? Is there a better alternative path ?
I’m seeking to enter IT and more specifically Cybersecurity, I went with the BAS MIS due to the cost and availability to me before I knew of the Pell Grant. Time isn’t an issue and I can dedicate large amounts to school however funding is strict.
Thank you for any input
